Dermal filler local specialist treatments

Dermal fillers

The Courtyard Aesthetics Clinic offers a wide range of dermal filler local treatments. Dermal fillers are injections of hyaluronic acid which are cross bonded in a way that provides structure and longevity to the results. They are placed under the skin to lighten and remove fine lines and wrinkles. Fillers can be used to shape and support the face to combat the signs of ageing.

Dermal fillers will be tailored to your face’s specific needs. We offer a selection of options to include finer fillers for the smallest of lines to more lifting and reshaping treatments. We use the premium fillers such as Juvedern Vycross and Teoxane RHA and Redensity ranges, all of which are bio-degradable, non-permanent fillers, and provide a longer lasting result.

Fillers can help you achieve a soft and natural look. Areas that can be treated successfully include lips to restore shape and definition and areas of the face to erase winkles and shape contours. There is also evidence that dermal fillers can contribute to stimulating the cells in the skin to create brand new collagen.

Dermal Filler FAQs

  • What is a dermal filler injection?

A dermal filler injection gives instant volume to the skin and longer term can produce the effect of fuller more hydrated, youthful looking skin.

  • When can I expect to see a difference?

Results are visible almost immediately and most patients should see a difference within 24-48 hours after their treatment. It will take a full 14 days for the optimum result to be achieved.

  • How will I look post-treatment?

Your skin may appear a little swollen and pink, but this should settle down after a few hours. There is also a risk of bruising post-treatment which should subside after 48 hours or so; the full healing period is normally 14 days.

  • What happens at my first appointment?

Your initial consultation will involve a full assessment of your face and a discussion of your ideas and concerns. We'll formulate a treatment plan based on your goals and budget and answer any questions you may have. We'll then book you in for treatment on a day and time to suit you, this also allows for a ‘cooling off’ period so you don’t feel rushed into any decisions.

  • What will happen during my treatment?

We will apply an anaesthetic cream to the skin before we start the injections. Tiny amounts of filler will then be injected into the skin using a very fine needle. At the end of the treatment we use soothing cream to aim to reduce any swelling.

  • How long do dermal fillers last?

Every client is different, and results depend on the area being treated and the amount of filler used. In general, if using the Juvederm shorter acting range results will last from 6-9 months. The Vycross range, will be expected to last 12-18 months

  • Will the dermal filler injections hurt?

Modern dermal fillers include a local anaesthetic within the gel. The needle is fine and should only cause minimum discomfort. We also use a topical anaesthetic cream prior to starting any of the injections.

  • Will I experience any side-effects post-treatment?

With every medical procedure there are some risks involved, however the methods we use to administer the injections are designed to minimise any side effects. We will discuss these in detail on your initial consultation. The more common ones may involve some bruising or swelling post treatment.
